The functions and purposes of SEO services and Website Marketing

The SMART informational retrieval system was created back in the 1960’s by Gerald Salton’s team at Harvard and a team at Cornell University and was believed to be at the root of SEO services . This drove a need to be able to search effectively on the newly formed Internet with the arrival in the 1990’s of ‘ARCHIE’ (shortened from ‘Archive’). Archie’s Query methodology, incorporated a script and regular expression matcher which combined with a database enabled searchers to view these catalogued web filenames.

Since that time many search engine companies (Aliweb, Looksmart, Lycos, Inktomi, Infoseek etc…) have tried to create a profitable, successful and sustainable business model and failed. Google however has become the de facto standard and is still the primary search engine of choice for 80% of the searches made on the Internet – however it is fair to say that Bing from Microsoft is catching up and making inroads into this dominance.

Google continues to refine its algorithm, which it uses to determine a websites relevance to the user search, so that it can follow its message of making a rapid search as relevant as possible for the user . Companies soon saw this as a great opportunity to get their businesses to be available globally and page one of Google was the place to be.

A good SEO campaign can mean a good website presence and can therefore lead to more sales.

The old Yellow Pages adage of simply ‘being in the book’ doesn’t apply any more. Today’s searcher is more fickle with time and search relevance being key factors for both the user and the search engine alike. The search engines are now guiding users through the decision process, the website style important but how it is used, how it communicates, ease of purchase and definitive calls to actions, are key factors in the sales process.

So what do you do when a user gets to your website?

Well the main goal, generally, is to get the user to acquire some of your goods or services , have a think about what you do when you buy something in a shop for example.
The Retail owner generally:

a) Display their purchasable items

b) Make it easy for you to get info on them (ask an assistant / maybe compare options)

c) Most important of all, they make it easy for you to buy them.

Exactly the same rules apply with a website. Make special deals on your products for limited periods only.

You don’t have to make the Website as much fun as a theme park, the goal is to simply provide users with an environment that they purchase you wares in – Make it Easy!.

But just remember without SEO people won’t get to you and that is the base requirement.

Make the most important decision you will ever make and get in touch with SEO services Now to provide you with you page one Google listing
